Tomorrow is the big Easter Egg Hunt at the Effingham Public Library. I am baking cupcakes and bringing the apple juice. Oh, and of course the eggs. White eggs, green eggs, and brown eggs. The kids will search for filled eggs around the library, and the eggs I am donating will be for coloring. They even get to make an Easter basket to put them in. The showers may bring flowers, but it doesn't help for getting much outdoor work done around here. It's cold, and damp and no fun to do anything outdoors. This morning I finished the chemise I had started a couple days ago. It turned out to be just what I wanted. It will be added to the Thornton Square line of clothes. Back in September, we ordered 25 New Hampshire Reds. For ordering 25 chickens we got a "free rare exotic bird". The rare exotic happened to be an Araucana, also known as a South American Rumpless. We were hoping the Araucana would be a hen so we would get one more green a day to grace our egg basket. We now have discovered this new "hen" is actually a rooster. … [Read more...]
