Diet Is A Noun, Not A Verb- Eating Healthy to Lose Weight
Eating to Live Healthy
When you hear someone say the word diet, you automatically think they are trying to lose weight. In order to lose weight and keep it off forever, a diet should simply be what you are eating.
di·et (dī-it) Noun: The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.
Using the word diet as the way one should be eating is the best way to lose weight and stay healthy. As the definition states, its the way you eat on a daily or regular basis. A diet is what you eat. If you change your diet, you don’t need to necessarily be dieting. You are just changing what you habitually eat.
Now, you are what you eat, so if you habitually eat processed food, fatty foods, and other high calorie foods, you will become overweight. You will then need to go on a diet, and use the word as a verb.
di·et (dī-it) Verb: Restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight.
Changing what you eat is really not as hard as you may think. Yes, you will have to make some lifestyle changes, and possibly some substitutions, but it doesn’t mean you will have to go without. For example, if you like potato chips, you can easily make “chips” out of flat bread. Toast them in the over with a bit of salt and some herbs, and you fill the desire for chips, with only about 35 calories. This is based on 1/2 of the flat bread.
A diet, is what you eat. And yes, you are what you eat. If you eat a healthy diet, your body will use it for fuel.
If you change the food that you are eating, yes, you are on a diet, but it will change your life forever. You will soon be using the noun to describe your meals rather than the verb.
Using the word diet as a noun, is truly the only way for one to lose weight and keep it off for good.
If you consistently use it as a verb, you will be “dieting” the rest of your life.
Choose to be healthy by eating healthy, and getting plenty of exercise. Your body is a machine, and you have to take care of it, just like you would any machine.
Be sure to visit your doctor before changing your diet, or starting an exercise program. If you are having trouble with starting your new lifestyle, a nutritionist can be very helpful. They will teach you what food to eat for optimal health.
