Eat Local, Eat Healthy
When you purchase a tomato from us, you can be assured that we picked that tomato that morning. Whatever is not bought that day, goes into sauce for us that I can for the winter. Ther is no worry about where it actually came from, because you can come watch us pick. In fact, you could come help us pick. We always welcome the help.
Eating local truely means eating fresh. Fresh food is always best for healthy eating. The more local your food and produce is, the shorter shelf time, which means the less loss of all it’s nutrients. The longer a tomato sits, the more flavor it loses.
Eat local, and get healthy.
Things You Should Know about Farm Stands
As I was working planting the seedlings this afternoon, I was reminded of the woman we had in the shop last season. We got talking about another local farm stand, and how they already had their corn for sale. I hated to have to tell her, that just because she was in a farm stand, does not mean that farm grows that food. I told her that they brought it up from Boston. She was both shocked and amazed.
